STOS looks after nine tanks holding condensate (light oil) and some crude oil, which is piped and trucked in from the fields and other businesses. The products are then piped to the Newton King Tanker Terminal (Port Taranaki) to be shipped off to refineries for processing, either within New Zealand or internationally.
The 'Tank Farms' include the 'Omata Tank Farm' on Centennial Drive and the 'Paritutu Tank Farm' on Paritutu Road.
Omata Tank Farm
When you drive along Centennial Drive you'll see 14 tanks; which are owned and operated by different businesses. We operate four of the tanks: three tanks on our 'Energy Infrastructure Limited (EIL)' site and one on our 'T-3500' site.
Paritutu Tank Farm
Paritutu Tank Farm has five storage tanks dedicated to housing condensate produced from the Kapuni and Māui fields. Next to the Paritutu Tank Farm is our 'Paritutu Stores' facility, which receives and distributes equipment and parts for our fields.
Newton King Tanker Terminal
The Newton King Tanker Terminal is located at Port Taranaki and is owned and maintained by Port Taranaki. It is here that product from our Tank Farms is received, loaded onto ships and transported to refineries for processing.
We work closely with Port Taranaki to ensure that all the work on the Newton King Tanker Terminal is carried out safely.
